The OVCC Club and TRAC Staff at our recent outing.
Some of the members taking a break from the shooting.
The Club had the first club outing for 2011 the weekend of May 20-22 for some and all attended the Three River Avian Center Raptor shoot. We had the opportunity to shoot, 4 species of Owls, 2 species of Eagles, and 3 Hawk species and 1 Falcon species. We also shot about a million shots of the Sandstone Falls and the many things in the area.
Barn Owl with an afternoon snack!!
Berman told me this is a wild dangerous (junglefowl) attack Rhode Island Chicken (Gallus gallus domesticus).
Mike R.
We shot until our arms were tired and everyone had a great opportunity to get some up close and personal shots of these great birds, some they will never see this close.
Mary got a shot of the immature bald eagle.
12 members attended the shoot and 8 of us stayed the weekend at Sandstone Falls Almost Heaven Cabins, which is highly recommended.
This is one of the many shots taken at Sandstone Falls, about 9 miles from Hinton, WV. So, if you are in the area, take your camera and have a great time shooting at a great location.
Finally, 3 of the members made an adventurous journey across the falls to get to an island to take some shots. It was a trek, but some great shots were taken. Thanks Tom for showing how smart we were.
More to come as members turn in shots. |
